Burning must be done during daylight hours.
Don't burn when it is dry or windy.
Make sure you have a fire break cut down to mineral soil all the way arounds the fire so the fire does not spread.
Someone must stay and watch the fire.
Have a charged hose ready if possible.
Have a phone or cell phone handy in case you get into trouble.
Light the fire on the downwind side so that the wind slows the fire rather than pushing it into the middle of the fire.
YOU ARE FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE IF YOUR FIRE BURNS ONTO ANOTHER PERSONS LAND. YOU MAY THINK THOSE OLD CEDAR TREES ARE WORTHLESS BUT YOU MAY BE SURPRISED AT THEIR WORTH IF YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM.

I personally don't burn unless we had a good soaking rain the day before and it is drizzling on the day of the burn.
